Rose Sakala
Research and Policy Associate

Rose Sakala joins AFIDEP as a Research & Policy Associate.

She comes in with Research and Program Management knowledge of both formal and informal multi-sectoral experience, largely working on child marriages, youth engagement, livelihoods and good governance among other youth related issues.

Prior to joining AFIDEP, Rose worked with John Hopkins University Centre for Communications Program (JHUCCP), Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), European Union Delegation Office and National Assembly – Youth Parliament.   She is an award and Star Prize winner of the Future African Leaders Award (FALA) 2015, Recognition Award from the Future African Leaders Foundation (FALA) for outstanding impact made in young people’s lives in 2019 and Woman of Distinction Award (WoDA) 2016 by Professional Women’s’ Network (PROWNET). Rose has also been the International Youth Engagement advocate for Plan International.

She has just completed her Master of Business Administration (majoring in Public Finance Management) and she is currently pursuing  a Master’s Degree in Public Health with the College of Medicine, Malawi. She holds a Bachelor of Science  in Agribusiness Management and Diploma in Agriculture and Natural Resources Management.
