New evidence intermediaries are being constantly set up around the world, but many work in silos \u2013 and don\u2019t learn from other sectors or countries. Furthermore, some bodies compete for finite public and philanthropic funding. The question is, what does the future look like for evidence intermediary organisations? Is there more we can do to collaborate? How do we manage competition and lack of coherence \u2013 and measure success?<\/p>\n
Join AFIDEP\u2019s\u00a0Director of Public Policy and Knowledge Translation, and Head of Kenya Office,\u00a0Dr Rose\u00a0Oronje, with other experts as she speaks on a panel at the final part of a wider series of sessions organised by International Transforming Evidence Network entitled\u00a0Looking to the future:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0what can we do to grow more effective evidence intermediary organisations.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 The zoom meeting will be held on Tuesday, 28 June 2022, 7.00 \u2013 8.20 pm EAT. The session aims to have around 100-200 people attending from evidence intermediaries, academia, non-governmental organisations and public bodies from the United Kingdom and other countries.<\/p>\n Other panellists include:<\/p>\n o \u00a0 Olivia Stevenson, Co-Lead, CAPE, UK (CHAIR)<\/p>\n o \u00a0 Itzhak Yanovitzky, Professor of Communication, Rutgers University, US<\/p>\n o \u00a0 John Lavis, Co-Lead, Global Evidence Commission, Canada<\/p>\n The series will close with key messages from Annette Boaz and Kathryn Oliver, Co-Directors, at Transforming Evidence.<\/p>\n Transforming Evidence is a multidisciplinary, cross-sectoral, international community that exists to share learning across disciplines and sectors about how research evidence is made, shared and used. \u00a0These community members include academics,\u00a0policymakers,\u00a0practitioners and funders,\u00a0 journalists, think tanks and intermediaries who help transform evidence to identify gaps in understanding. It can support funding applications to research those gaps.<\/p>\n
