Respekt Conference 2023

AFIDEP is proud to be co-sponsoring Respekt Conference 2023 with Respekt. We will give talks, presentations & panel discussions on achieving #SDG-related sexual and reproductive health targets.

The RESPEKT Conference aims at bringing together various stakeholders in the Sexual and Reproductive Health space in Kenya and globally to deliberate on the best practices that have proved productive in the promotion and protection of Sexual and Reproductive health. The theme for this year’s conference is RESPEKT2023 conference: The last mile in achieving SDG-related Sexual and Reproductive Health Targets” 

AFIDEP will be present in all the venues: 

  1. Kisumu – 13 March 2023 at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel (Theme – Reducing inequalities in SRH through leveraging partnerships) 
  2. Eldoret – 15 March 2023 at The Boma Inn Hotel (Theme – Reconceptualizing SRHR as a shared responsibility between men and women while advancing male engagement in SRHR) 
  3. Nairobi – 17 March 2023 at Safari Park (Improving school-based and out-of-school comprehensive sexuality education for adolescents and young people)

  1. Rose N. Oronje, Ph.D. – the Director of Public Policy and Knowledge Translation, and Head of Kenya Office will give opening remarks.
  2. Violet I. Murunga, Ph.D. – senior research and policy associate, will give an expert presentation titled – Kenya’s adolescent sexual and reproductive health status, progress and policy environment
  3. Violet I. Murunga, Ph.D. will moderate a panel titled – How adolescents are navigating their religion’s stance on contraceptive use: lessons for policy and practice
